Not all the best walks have be be long walks. The Steeple hill behind Lochgoilhead Village is well worth the puff to climb. There is a good path heading up to an rock used by the local outdoors centres for abseiling, and a rougher path the rest of the way. It’s a steady climb and in no time at all the views start to open up. As usual around these hills – you hardly ever meet anyone. From the top there are views down over the village and over to the Drimsynie Estate, the Caravan &... Read→

Did the longish walk from Drimsynie Beg to Lettermay on the weekend – and what a difference in just a few months from the last time. The forestry clearance is well underway along the higher parts of the walk. In the past there were some fairly lengthy sections through forests. A lot of these trees have now been cleared and this has opened up the views. It is now possible to see the full sweep of the view from the road disappearing up Glen Mhor to the Rest-and-be-Thankful right down over the... Read→
