SUNDAY 1st AUGUST at 1.00pm The 2010 Bogie Race will take place on the above date.
There will be three categories; Under 10’s, Under 16’s and Adults. To register your intent to race please call in to the office in person, phone or email niki@hqhv.co.uk by 5pm on Saturday the 31st of July. The final registration and role call will take place on Sunday 1st at 12.30pm. If you are not there to register at this time I’m afraid you will not be entered. Heats commence at 1pm Bogies are a bit of old fashioned fun that the whole family can enjoy. Everyone involved last year really enjoyed the whole process, from sourcing the parts required to make the bogie, right down to the painting titivating of the finished work of art! The best idea is to decide first what kind of bogie you want to make, and research some plans on the internet. Old pram wheels or wheelie bins are ideal for bogies ,or the local tip could prove an invaluable source of raw material. Only homemade non-motorised bogies will be permitted to enter. All competitors must wear a crash helmet.

Two of the owners at Loch Eck Caravan Park have been hosts to the illusive pine marten for some time now. A neighbour has captured a couple of images of the, now very resident, pine marten.
I understand from them that there are a least two if not three, visiting on a daily basis. Great news for any wildlife enthusiast visiting the park.
These creatures are usually very shy and it is unusual to see them with such frequency.
It has been noted though, that within the area between Carrick, Ardentinny and Loch Eck the numbers of sightings have risen. I have attached an information file on Pine marten.
