The Lochgoilhead Village Hall fund raising coffee morning held a couple of weeks ago has resulted in a final figure being raised of £2,200. That is a fantastic amount particularly given that we are a relatively small community. We are very grateful for everyone’s help and support; it was enouraging to see such a cross-section of the community involved and to experience such a great atmosphere on the day. Dr Marian Morrison is delighted with this and will be keeping us updated on how the money will be used. It will help to make a real difference to some of the flood victims in the Southern Punjab area of Pakistan.
The appeal was made to support Dr. Marian Morrison.
Marian is the Medical Director at the Women’s Christian Hospital, Multan, Pakistan working as an obstetrician. Marian trained in Glasgow and has been in Pakistan since 1989. More recently she has been able to get involved with Christian medical students in the city and is very involved in training national nurses.
She is now the Country Team Leader for her sending agency and has pastoral responsibility for a large group of expat workers. She is also the security Warden for Multan appointed by the High Commission and is the first contact person in relation to security issues. She has been involved in helping some of the casualties of the recent floods.
Marian is supported by her church in Glasgow; Sandyford Henderson Church of Scotland. She is a highly respected Doctor in Multan and has done much to maintain the integrity and respect of the good reputation that WCH has in Multan.
We have asked Marian to distribute any raised funds together with Mr Yunis Laaldin, the hospital administrator as they consider the best way to reach people otherwise left without devices.

The above is the website for WCH which will give much more information on the hospital, its work and staff. There is mention of Marian Morrison under the history section.
