The first Zumba class held at the Drimsynie House Hotel was a great success with the holidaymakers, caravan and chalet owners, people from the local community and staff all coming along to Zumba with Sarah. All thoroughly enjoyed the session and left with big grins and laughter.
Sarah will be on this Sunday again at 11am and every second Sunday from there on. All levels of fitness are welcome. It’s well worth a try.
The september weekend activity programme enjoyed a good turnout. The football and family rounder’s being a big draw. The weather helped. The sun was out and everyone enjoyed our lovely surroundings and activities.

… Hunters Quay.

Remember, all holiday homes can be transported to a location of your choice within our seven holiday parks.

So, what do you get for that money?  Have a look: http://www.argyllholidays.com/sales/hq/hq_BK00018.html

Contact 0845 459 9774 for details.

The Lochgoilhead Village Hall fund raising coffee morning held a couple of weeks ago has resulted in a final figure being raised of £2,200. That is a fantastic amount  particularly given that we are a relatively small community.  We are very grateful for everyone’s help and support; it was enouraging to see such a cross-section of the community involved and to experience such a great atmosphere on the day.  Dr Marian Morrison is delighted with this and will be keeping us updated on how the money will be used.  It will help to make a real difference to some of the flood victims in the Southern Punjab area of Pakistan.

The appeal was made to support Dr. Marian Morrison.

Marian is the Medical Director at the Women’s Christian Hospital, Multan, Pakistan working as an obstetrician. Marian trained in Glasgow and has been in Pakistan since 1989.  More recently she has been able to get involved with Christian medical students in the city and is very involved in training national nurses.

She is now the Country Team Leader for her sending agency and has pastoral responsibility for a large group of expat workers.  She is also the security Warden for Multan appointed by the High Commission and is the first contact person in relation to security issues.  She has been involved in helping some of the casualties of the recent floods.

Marian is supported by her church in Glasgow; Sandyford Henderson Church of Scotland.  She is a highly respected Doctor in Multan and has done much to maintain the integrity and respect of the good reputation that WCH has in Multan.

We have asked Marian to distribute any raised funds together with Mr Yunis Laaldin, the hospital administrator as they consider the best way to reach people otherwise left without devices.

The above is the website for WCH which will give much more information on the hospital, its work and staff. There is mention of Marian Morrison under the history section.

New for this September week end holiday is a zumba class beig held at Drimsynie on Sunday morning at 11 am.

Chalet owner, and zumba expert,  Sara Galbraith has recently started running her own classes to great success in Glasgow costing £4

Zumba is the latest exercise craze sweeping across Scotland. With numbers up to 150 taking part in classes it involves hip shaking, pelvic thrusting, feet stomping, and arm waving to a latin american dance theme. Sounds like fun.

The venue last Saturday night was the local village hall where the Lochgoilhead Golf Club held their second The Goil’s Got Talent evening.

The entertainment was started by last year’s winner Daniel Brett. A great variety of acts included singers, pole dancing strippers, disco dancers as well as a special Thriller section.  The Goil truly does have talent.

The finalists were Kirsty Ferguson, Calum MacArthur and Ian.

Winner was Kirsty with her rendition of Old Time Rock and Roll and Walking in Memphis

Judges were Billy Fyfe as Simon from Cowal, Lesleyanne as Sharron from Clydebank and Allan Howden as the Hasslequiff. Funny point of the night was Sharron tipping a glass of water over Simon’s head and stomping off stage.

Thanks to everyone who took part.
