Its a great place for boat watching. Take a drive the full length o fthe canal to Crinan Harbour. It is a nice spot with a hotel and tea room. More inf on: Crinan Canal

The next event is a moonlight swim on Monday 18 April at 9pm. This is the first moonlight swim we have had here at Lochgoilhead and will sure to be amazing with the darkness, moon, stars and the shadows of the surrounding hills in the background. Come on, you know you’ll love it. What an experience.
There will be no set time in water or length of swim. Just taking a dip or coming along to support and getting warmed up with the fire on the sea shore, bring your own refreshments and meet to people have a laugh.
I will supervise the swim and all who enter first must log on to the Outdoor Swimming Society website and become a member(free) and read the terms and conditions safety policy.

Twice a year the Fire Fighters Charity have ‘National Car Wash’ days which all stations can participate in, to raise money for the Fire Fighters Charity. This will be Lochgoilhead’s 3rd car wash and hope it will be as successful as previous years.
We, the crew of Lochgoilhead Fire Station, are having ours on the Monday 25th April 2011, 10am – 3pm.
Although the car wash is essentially free, all donations to charity are gratefully welcome.

Cruise Loch Lomond have a number of different itineraries and cruise/walking options leaving from Tarbet, Luss and Balmaha. It was a sunny Saturday so we headed off to Luss to catch the Balmaha sailing. You can go for the rounds trip (£9.50) or take a break in Balmaha for a couple of hours and climb the Connich Hill. This is a really easy and pleasant way to pass a couple of hours on the loch just taking in the scenery and watching the islands pass by, as well as the great view north up the loch to Ben Lomond and the other mountains. All the options as well as pre-booking your ticket are available on their website.
